Agile Signs Agreement With Altera for Worldwide Implementation of Agile Anywhere(TM) Software
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 9 --
Agile Software Corporation (Nasdaq: AGIL), a leading provider of
collaborative manufacturing commerce solutions, announced today that
Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR), a leading supplier of programmable logic
devices (PLDs), has signed a corporate agreement for the deployment and use of
Agile Anywhere(TM) throughout Altera Corporation. Under the agreement, Altera
will install Agile Anywhere, a Web-based suite of collaborative manufacturing
solutions, at all Altera facilities worldwide, with subscriptions distributed
to both internal Altera users and to users at Altera's supply chain partners. ``As an industry leader in PLD technology, Altera was searching for similar
excellence in technology and vision in a collaborative manufacturing
solution,'' said Thomas Murchie, Altera Vice President of Worldwide Operations.
``Of all the vendors we looked at, Agile demonstrated by far the best
understanding of the fabless integrated circuit business, as well as the most
powerful levels of automation and security.
With Agile Anywhere, we can
securely distribute information about product content both to internal users
and to key supply chain partners in a much more timely, efficient, and secure
fashion.'' Agile Anywhere is a complete suite of collaborative manufacturing commerce
solutions that totally automates the distribution and synchronization of
product content across the e-supply chain, with all information and services
available through Agile eHubs(TM).
Agile Anywhere solutions include the Agile
Product Definition Server(TM), Agile Product Change Server(TM), Agile AML
Server(TM), and Agile ChangeCAST(TM). ``Altera will use Agile's advanced workflow features to communicate
critical changes to our products quickly and accurately across all of our
global facilities.
Agile Anywhere will also allow us to communicate with our
suppliers, partners, and customers, often in mid-process, that product changes
are coming, and update them on the results of these changes,'' said
Prakash Vaswani, Altera Director of Corporate Quality.
``Altera's APEX(TM)
20KE device family and the new Excalibur(TM) embedded processor solutions are
accelerating system-on-a-programmable chip design.
With increasing customer
demand for these products, Agile will enable us to meet our aggressive
production schedules.'' ``Altera is known throughout the semiconductor industry for both its
groundbreaking PLD technology, and its leadership in outsourced integrated
circuit manufacturing efficiency,'' said Bryan D. Stolle, Chairman and CEO of
Agile.
``Agile is very excited about partnering with Altera to bring their
revolutionary new products to market as quickly as possible.'' About Altera Altera Corporation, The Programmable Solutions Company®, was founded in
